Villa Mexico Workshop

 Recently, an amazing group traveled to Jalisco, Mexico to help produce a special photo workshop for the ever so talented Jose Villa.  This past workshop, Lisa Vorce, Jose Villa, and Joel Serrato and I did a scout visit to the near by Guadalajara and Tonala areas to find some local flavor to incorporate in the various shoots....

The Welcome Dinner

Hacienda El Carmen 

Beautiful hand loomed shawls .... one for each guest!

Dinner was held in the hacienda's, now abandoned, sugarcane storage room.

Woven placemats were made in a local village, each hand painted with the guests' name and  traditional flower motif.

Elaborate tile runner of hand made terra-cotta ran the entire length of the table.Floral made of wood and husk was paved in large rustic terra-cotta vessels each accompanied with antiqued, teal candelabras!

Our beautiful gifts, each wrapped with hand stamped wrapping paper, look darn cute on our favorite donkey!

( and yes they are empty and light- we even tried it out ourselves to make sure....)
